This page contains the Implementation Guides and instructions that will help you prepare for and run your activities.

Watch Out For: At minimum, you will need electronic devices and internet access to use DIY Universe resources. Some activities require enabling Adobe Flash, and exhibit templates are PowerPoint files.

Overall, the Life and Death of Stars theme is geared toward middle school learners (5-8 graders). The Other Solar Systems / Other Earths resources are geared more toward upper-middle and high school learners (8-12 graders).

Educators/caregivers, you may choose either a 5 day summer program (morning and afternoon sessions) or 10 session afterschool program implementation guide to follow:

DIY Universe resources and exhibit design is geared toward out-of-school time groups or learning at home, but classroom educators are also encouraged to use these resources in their curriculum.

You are welcome to modify any suggested plans to use DIY Universe resources in the classroom or to fit your specific needs.

To compliment your youths’ exhibits, you may want to complete other activities, like building a model to represent their chosen topic or overall theme.
