MicroObservatory is a network of automated telescopes that can be controlled over the Internet.
The Observing With NASA website is part of a NASA-funded project to make the MicroObservatory robotic telescopes accessible to all audiences who want to appreciate and understand the amazing images and data from NASA's space science missions. Users control the MicroObservatory telescopes and download their images themselves, with no human intervention in the loop. You can access the Observing With NASA "Control Telescope" web interface at anytime.
Tools and Training (Video Tutorials)
Control Telescope (Take Your Own Image)
Analyze and Process Images (Process the Images You Took)
Watch Out For:
Youth will need an email address in order to get access to their images. It will take at least 24 hours to acquire an image, so in the lesson planning stage, allow two days for this part of the project (one for collecting, one for processing).
